An intensely aromatic Japanese spice with a bright citrus character and distinctive tingling sensation.

CITRUS SHOCK is made from whole Budo Sansho grown in Japan by our partner farmers. Unlike chili peppers, sansho is not about heat. Crush the dried husks just before serving and they release a remarkably fresh, citrus-like aroma, followed by the characteristic numbing tingle that makes Japanese sansho unique.

Use it whole, lightly crushed, or ground just before serving for maximum aroma.
